Anterior Composite Hands-on

A two-day practical course focused on direct composite restorations in the anterior region.

This course is designed for clinicians who want to understand anterior esthetics on a deeper level — not only as a layering technique, but as a way of working with light, shape, morphology, and optical integration.

The goal is not to teach one universal protocol.
The goal is to understand why some restorations look natural — and how to achieve that result predictably, conservatively, and in daily clinical practice.

During the course, we will go through the complete workflow step by step: from planning and isolation to shade selection, layering, finishing, texture, and polishing.

We will focus not only on how to place composite, but more importantly on why we choose a specific shape, opacity, translucency, margin, surface texture, and finishing strategy.

Programme

01Isolation

Rubber dam isolation as the foundation of predictable adhesive dentistry. Practical tips for isolating the anterior region, managing margins, creating a stable working field, and improving comfort during treatment.

02Shade selection

How to read a natural tooth. How to understand value, translucency, chroma, and opacity. How to simplify shade selection and avoid restorations that are technically correct but optically unnatural.

03Polychromatic restorations

Layering strategies for Class IV defects and more extensive anterior reconstructions. Focus on the opaque core, incisal effects, transitions, halo, translucency, and natural integration of the restoration.

04Monochromatic restorations

Simpler, but highly precise restorations where shape is the key factor. Spaces, Class III and Class V restorations, small corrections of proportions, edges, and tooth form.

05Shape, morphology, and finishing

How to create a restoration that does not look like a filling. We will focus on line angles, emergence profile, contact points, surface texture, gloss, and final optical integration.
